The Waupaca County Community Resource Fair, set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Manawa Masonic Center, will be a significant event for the community.
Hosted by Connecting Waupaca County Communities (CWCC), a subgroup of Be Well Waupaca County, the fair aims to promote connectedness while enhancing the dignity and quality of life for families and children, particularly those from underserved populations. The event will offer an array of free resources, support services, and engaging activities designed to foster strong community networks through fun, education, and empowerment.
Families attending the fair will have the opportunity to partake in various activities, including family photos and haircuts, which require sign-up at the registration table. Feeding America will provide a box of pantry staples to families on a first-come, first-served basis, and a small farmers market will offer free produce. Drivers who bring individuals from outside their household can enter to win prizes, adding an element of excitement and community spirit to the day.
Health and wellness will be a focal point, with free health screenings such as eye exams, BMI assessments, blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, range of motion screenings, and COVID-19 vaccines available to attendees.
Educational presentations will be held throughout the day, offering valuable information from local organizations. CAP Services Family Crisis Center, Waupaca County Public Health, and Fox Valley Technical College – Waupaca Regional Center will each conduct 15-minute sessions to inform the community about their services.
The Waupaca County Community Resource Fair promises to be a day filled with family engagement, education, and community support, striving to enhance the overall well-being of all who attend.
