Patricia C. “Trisha” Hafemann Lund obituary

Patricia C. “Trisha” Hafemann Lund

August 29, 1959 – November 6, 2024

Patricia C. “Trisha” Hafemann Lund, age 65, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at UW Hospital and Clinics.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1959, in West Bend, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Betty (Chapek) Hafemann. She was the youngest of three children and had two older brothers, Lee and Michael. With her family, she moved from Wisconsin to New Hampshire, where she spent a formative few years having clam bakes on the beach and running the neighborhood group of kids. She moved with her parents back to West Bend, Wis., and later to Iola, Wis., where her father was the principal and superintendent of the Iola Scandinavia High School.

Trisha graduated from Iola Scandinavia High School in 1977. Following graduation, she went to UW-Stevens Point, where she studied dance. It was at Stevens Point that she met a group of people that would become her lifelong friends and one, her husband.

On Sept. 6, 1986, she married Jerome Lund in Waupaca, Wisconsin. In addition to raising her children, she enjoyed a career as a legal assistant, working for Stafford Law LLP, for over 20 years.

Trisha was a talented seamstress, gardener, gyoza-maker, and host. She volunteered at Frank Allis Elementary when her son was in his first few years of school as a class parent, and at La Follette High School when her daughter was in the marching band, where she outfitted the band with their uniforms. She enjoyed being the “craft lady” and never failed to have a trick up her sleeve to make parties and events more fun and engaging. There was never much that she didn’t know or couldn’t figure out, and her talents and insight will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

Trisha is survived by her husband, Jerry; son, Jeffrey Lund; daughter, Ellen Lund; brother, Michael Hafemann; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lee Hafemann.

Her family thanks everyone that has reached out in recent days, the support has been indispensable and deeply appreciated.

A Celebration of Trisha’s life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
