Patricia Ann (Lien) Brandenburger

Patricia Ann (Lien) Brandenburger, 74, Ellendale, North Dakota, died Dec. 28, 2019, surrounded by her children.
Pat was born Sept. 2, 1945, to Malcolm and Gladys (Olson) Lien in Iola, Wisconsin. She graduated from Iola High School in 1963. She married Roger Brandenburger June 15, 1963. They made their home in many places throughout Wisconsin, traveling for Roger’s work.
In 1977 they moved back to the family farm near Forbes, North Dakota, where they lived until Pat and Roger moved to Ellendale in 1993. Pat was a homemaker for the first half of her life. She raised sheep and chickens, enjoyed hunting and fishing and being an accomplished seamstress, she created many sewn treasures for friends and family.
Pat began working at the Ellendale NoDak Cafe in 1990. When Fargo Assembly opened a plant in Ellendale, Pat applied becoming employee number 3. She remained working at Fargo Assembly in Quality Control until the plant closed in 2018.
Pat loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed spending time visiting with everyone and she loved attending her grandchildren’s events. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing with Roger, hunting for bargains while shopping and watching the Packers on Sunday.
Pat is survived by her son Keith (Kerry) Brandenburger and children Madison and Craig, Aberdeen, South Dakota; three daughters, Suzanne (Douglas) Straus and children Ryan (Rebekah), Tim, Mike, Jeff (Evie), Jennifer, Daniel and Jason, West Fargo, North Dakota, Val (Mark) Wagner and children Ian, Scott, Evan and Eli, Monango, North Dakota, Amy (Garrett) Mittleider and children Kiley, Kaden, Garrett (Samantha), Becca, Wyatt and BreAnna, Frederick, South Dakota; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Judy (John) Kaminski, Kissimee, Florida; Sandy Carter, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; and Shelly Kunzman, Iola, Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews and those that she considered relatives by choice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, one son and one grandson.
A memorial service was on Jan. 2, 2020, at Presbyterian United Methodist Church, Ellendale, with Dr. Rev. Chet Cataldo officiating. Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale, was in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Ellendale City Cemetery in the spring.
