Scandinavia library book of the month: “Wintering”

Book of the Month for June at the Scandinavia Public Library is Peter Geye’s “Wintering”. It’s a book about family secrets and a winter survival tale set in the Minnesota Boundary Waters. Copies are available at the library—read it, and then join in to discuss it on Tuesday, June 28!

Driver killed in morning rollover on Highway 161

A driver was thrown from a vehicle in an accident about 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, on Highway 161 just east of Iola, according to a FOX 11 news story. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. Authorities have not released the name of the driver pending notification of relatives.
