Norway Tour experiences to headline Iola Historical Society meeting

Machine Shed on the campus of the Iola Historical Society

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, members and guests of the Iola Historical Society will gather at the Machine Shed, 222 Depot Street, Iola, for an engaging evening that will be highlighted by a much-anticipated program. As the clock strikes 7 p.m., Norway tour participants will share their experiences and impressions, inviting the community to vicariously enjoy the sights, sounds, and stories collected during their Scandinavian journey.

The meeting will begin with a board session at 5:30 p.m., followed by the membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. Throughout these sessions, attendees will review the status of current projects, explore new and future undertakings, and discuss recent disappointments and satisfactions encountered since the last assembly. Aspirations for the society’s direction will be presented, ensuring the organization’s vision remains robust and inclusive.

The evening will also be a time to prepare the community for upcoming events, most notably the Taste of Norway & Lost Arts Fair, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4. This annual celebration will blend heritage, craftsmanship, and the flavors of Norway, rekindling traditions and engaging visitors in the area’s rich cultural tapestry.

Organizers will announce that the next board and membership meetings are set for Monday, Sept. 29. For more information, community members are encouraged to contact the society at 715-445-5050.
