Norman R. Paulson, Jr.
August 23, 1931 – July 18, 2023

Norman R. Paulson, Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 23, 1931, to the late Norman Sr. and Emily (Bedrich) Paulson.
After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge.
On Sept. 3, 1976, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Barg Harlow.
Norm has been an active member of VFW Post 1037 since joining in 1977. He was the first dual white post commander for VFW Post 1037, which he held from 1985-87.
Norm and Bonnie enjoyed their cabin in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, where he loved to fish. In his younger years, he was an avid baseball player and also did coaching. Norm was also an avid bowler and coached bowling as well. Hunting, camping, and snowmobiling were other activities he enjoyed. Norm would never turn down a good game of Sheepshead or Cribbage.
Norm will be dearly missed by his wife Bonnie of Scandinavia, Wisconsin; children Debbie (Jeffery) Verburgt of Muskego, Gloria Gocha of Muskego, Wisconsin, Paul Paulson (Patti) of Antigo, Wisconsin, Donna (Tracey) Ambacher of Iola, Eileen Spilka of Florida, and Scott (Becky) Paulson of Scandinavia; sisters Vernell Sobczak and Bonita (Bill) Grabarec, both of Salem, Wisconsin; brother-in-law Roger McKay of Franklin, Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his beloved dog Dixie.
He was preceded in death by sons Roy and Jeff and siblings Donna McKay and Dwight “Corky” Paulson.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Maple Crest Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Military honors will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
