Here in Northeast Wisconsin, we’re blessed to have incredible veterans. These individuals, whether they be police officers, volunteers, coaches, healthcare professionals, or advocates for their fellow veterans, make daily contributions to our community and help make Northeast Wisconsin the best place to live and raise a family. 

Every day, I hear stories of the incredible work they do, and now I want to help shine a spotlight on these local heroes.  

That’s why, as Veterans Day approaches, I’m excited to announce that nominations are open for the inaugural Northeast Wisconsin Veteran of the Year Award. This award will honor one of many veterans who go above and beyond the call of duty after returning home from service to make a difference in our community. But I can’t do it without your help.

If you know a veteran who exemplifies a spirit of service, excellence, and dedication in all that they do, I encourage you to nominate them here. 

Nominations will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Oct. 8. The award will be presented to the winning veteran around Veterans Day.

I’m excited to see the nominations come in and learn more about all the great work done by veterans in Northeast Wisconsin.
