Local artist will be offering a watercolor class the subject of which will be of a rural stream. The class is conducted by renowned watercolor artist Carolyn Rosenberger. The July 18 class will be held on Monday, July 18, from 9:30 a.m.-noon at Lessons from the Art in downtown Iola. Cost is $25. To register call 715-445-3442.
On Tuesday, July 5, CWEC will need to do a substation back feed at its Iola Substation because American Transmission Company (ATC) has to make repairs on their transmission line. The switching is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on July 5. The Iola Substation is scheduled to return to normal in the afternoon. If everything goes according to plan, there should not be any power interruptions.
Iola native Connor Kurki is pitching for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters this summer. Kurki has appeared in seven games this season, recording a 2.57 ERA. See WSAW story here.
