- Local artist will be offering a watercolor class the subject of which will be of a rural stream. The class is conducted by renowned watercolor artist Carolyn Rosenberger. The July 18 class will be held on Monday, July 18, from 9:30 a.m.-noon at Lessons from the Art in downtown Iola. Cost is $25. To register call 715-445-3442.
- On Tuesday, July 5, CWEC will need to do a substation back feed at its Iola Substation because American Transmission Company (ATC) has to make repairs on their transmission line. The switching is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on July 5. The Iola Substation is scheduled to return to normal in the afternoon. If everything goes according to plan, there should not be any power interruptions.
- Iola native Connor Kurki is pitching for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters this summer. Kurki has appeared in seven games this season, recording a 2.57 ERA. See WSAW story here.
