Iola-Scandinavia Middle and High School will have a new science teacher this fall, Ms. Kayli Tate.

“I have a strong passion for science and I love helping others learn, so what better way to combine those two, than to become a science teacher?

“I was a student teacher at D.C. Everest Senior High School and Middle School in the Fall of 2021. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Broad Field Science and a concentration in biology and chemistry.

“My family at home consists of my mother, my little sister, and two dogs. As a family, we love to go on vacation. We often travel to Denver, Colorado, and Orlando, Florida. We have been to Disney World almost a dozen times already and plan to continue going for years to come.

“I have been in dance since I was 3 years old and performed in many styles of dance including tap, jazz, modern, ballet, hip hop, and more! My favorite style of dance is tap.

“Now that life has slowed down, I enjoy reading and I’m learning how to cook. My favorite books are the Harry Potter series (I can’t pick just one.) My favorite meal to cook is salmon with broccoli.

“One really cool, fun fact about myself is that I am related to Lisa Kudrow, the tv star known as Phoebe on Friends.

“I’m looking forward to teaching for the Iola-Scandinavia School District!”
