The Iola-Scandinavia School District welcomes a new addition to its team of dedicated educators. Tanner Bockhop has taken on the role of Middle School Math teacher at I-S Middle School.
Originally hailing from Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Bockhop brings a strong educational background to his new position. He is an alumnus of the UW-Whitewater, where he honed his academic skills and developed an interest in teaching. Bockhop’s commitment to education is further rooted in his own family as he is the eldest of three siblings and is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
When asked about his motivation for pursuing a career in education, Bockhop highlighted his desire to make a positive impact on students’ lives. “I am passionate about helping students learn and grow to reach their full potential,” he stated. This passion extends beyond the classroom, as Bockhop has been an active volunteer in various youth baseball programs in his hometown.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Bockhop is an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoys both watching and playing sports, and he particularly supports teams from his home state. “My favorite teams are the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and any Wisconsin Badger team,” he revealed. Additionally, Bockhop finds solace in spending time on the lake or fishing.
A unique aspect of Bockhop’s identity is that he is a left-handed writer but carries out all other tasks with his right hand.
Bockhop’s decision to join the Iola-Scandinavia School District was driven by his desire to return to a small-town environment and contribute to the growth of middle school students. “The opportunity to join a small-town school district, which is where I have come from. While also getting the opportunity to teach Middle School Math, where I feel I can help students learn and grow the best!” he shared.
