New bike route coming to Waupaca County

After a winter of planning on Zoom, the Greater Waupaca Area Parks & Trails (GWAPT) is ready to roll out a new bicycle route! The current project is a family-friendly bicycle route through the Towns of Farmington, St. Lawrence, Scandinavia, Waupaca, and the Village of Ogdensburg.

The trail will start and end in the City of Waupaca’s Rotary Park. The majority of the trail follows town roads and will include signs. It also makes use of the Tomorrow River Trail between Ogdensburg and Scandinavia.

GWAPT is raising funds to complete this project, with a fundraising goal of $4,000 by May 1. The cost covers signs for the trail and signposts. The route map and more information on how to donate can be seen at  https://commonrootsrising.org/gwapt .

As part of our fundraising efforts a Spring Ride will be led by Scott Rusch in May. The date will be announced in April. The ride will raise funds for the trail and introduce riders to the new route. Registration is $5 per individual or $10 per family.

GWAPT exists to identify biking and walking routes, river routes, and parks throughout the Townships of Dayton, Farmington, Lind, Waupaca, and the City of Waupaca. It helps to coordinate projects with towns surrounding Waupaca and within the City of Waupaca to enhance recreational enjoyment and the economy of the Greater Waupaca Area.
