• THANK YOU DAVID RATZ:  The flag which flies outside the Iola & Rural Fire Department was looking a bit tattered so David Ratz, a 20-year US Air Force veteran, replaced the worn flag with a new one.

• WELCH RESIGNED: Kristian Welch, formerly of Iola, has been re-signed by the Baltimore Ravens. Congratulations! Ravens games may be more enjoyable to watch than Packers games this coming season …

• NATIONAL DECA QUALIFERS: Congratulations to I-S High School FCCLA students who qualified for Nationals in Denver, Colorado. They are Marin Hoyord, Myah Heschke and Vivian Stelse for their Chapter in Review Display, and Rayelnn Wasrud in Early Childhood Education.
