  • POST PROM DONATIONS: Donations for the Post Prom Party May 6-7 are being sought by the Iola Lions Club. More than 120 students attend. Cash and gift certificates and product donations should be mailed to JPMedia LLC, P.O. Box 5000, Iola, WI 54945. Checks should be made payable to Iola Lions Club. Donations can also be dropped at the JPMedia building at N7528 Aanstad Road in Iola.
  • ACADEMIC ALL-STATE AWARDS: Several Iola-Scandinavia High School athletes received Academic All-State Awards from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. Those who maintained a minimum 3.5-point grade average are: Mckenzie Bonikowske, Ellie Charles, Lillian Fuhs, Parker Gullixon, Maci Heschke, Myah Heschke, Ryan Kampert, Clara Koles, Carter Melum, Madeline Much, Jaelyn Siverson, Charlie Tappa, and Chloe Timdal. Congratulations!
  • CHAMPIONS: The Iola-Scandinavia Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team claimed 1st place in WBCA Division 4 competition. Congratulations!
  • IOLA VILLAGE BOARD CANDIDATES: Four persons are running for three seats on the Iola Village Board. They are: Shannon Dane, who has lived in Iola for seven years and has been a chief election inspector; Rick Meyers, a resident of Iola for six years and served on the board for two years; Rick Messier, a resident of Iola for two years; and Jim Rasmussen, a lifelong resident of Iola and has served on the board for 26 years.
  • TEE TIME LOUNGE: The restaurant at Glacier Wood Golf Course in Iola is now called Tee Time Lounge. According to its Facebook post, “We are aiming to open on Friday, March 31st. Until the golf season starts, we will only be open Thursday through Sunday with a limited menu. We ask for patience as we go through our growing pains on training our new staff. We look forward to becoming a part of your community!”
