  • Iola-Scandinavia’s DECA chapter took part in the Central Region Leadership Conference in Milwaukee. Students took part in leadership workshops, testing and role play competition, and social events. Maggie Williams and Bethany Schmoldt took home medals for their role play solution to a scenario involving the Summerfest music festival. Congratulations Maggie and Bethany!
  • I-SCFAC MORNING MANAGER: Danielle Hockenstad is the new morning manager at the Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness and Aquatic Center. Michelle is leaving in January for education pursuits.
  • SCHOOL SURVEY: A total of 273 surveys were received by the Iola-Scandinavia School District about future directions for the district. A committee met on Dec. 7 to review the results and will meet again on Jan. 11.
  • SCHOOL SAFETY: On Dec. 7 and 8, school safety drills were conducted in the Iola-Scandinavia School District. There were many positive highlights experienced. A couple of improvements to be made were noted and will be followed up on. It was suggested that the next drill should include police and other services to make sure school procedures are “solid”.
