CAR SHOW UPDATE: Attendance was slightly up from last year, totaling 123,000.

Improvements included (among other things) new shower buildings and widened roadways.

CORN ROAST: A total of 1,113 ears of corn were consumed at this year’s Scandinavia Corn Roast.

OPEN HOUSE: The Iola-Scandinavia School District will have an open house on Wednesday, Aug. 27, starting at 5 p.m. at the elementary school and 5:30 p.m. at the middle/high school.

SCAVENGER HUNT: Celebrate the world of color one more time at our final 2025 Color Our World summer program! Families can drop into the Scandinavia Public Library any time between 1–6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, to enjoy a colorful scavenger hunt and learn something about light refraction and how light turns into colors!

BALLOT DROP BOX CASE: Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney will serve as special prosecutor in a state Department of Justice investigation into the 2024 removal of a ballot drop box from outside Wausau City Hall, officials announced Thursday, Aug. 14. The probe stems from a Sept. 22, 2024, decision by Mayor Doug Diny to move a locked absentee ballot drop box inside City Hall, citing security concerns.  Read the Wausau Pilot & Review story here.

YOUNG ADULTS AND CONSCIENTIOUSNESS: The Wisconsin Elections Commission ordered the city of Madison to undertake new administrative and procedural changes for future elections.
