Veteran educator begins new role as school year starts

As the new school year begins, Molly DuPont has been appointed principal of Iola-Scandinavia Elementary School, introducing fresh leadership and a commitment to educational excellence for students, families, and community members.
With 27 years of experience in education, spanning roles as a classroom teacher, site coach, and district instructional coach from Kindergarten through sixth grade, DuPont brings a wealth of expertise and passion to her new position. She emphasizes her dedication to supporting the success of all learners and ensuring students receive the resources they need to thrive.
“My favorite part of school is interacting with students, especially during read-alouds. I love books!” DuPont shared, expressing enthusiasm for connecting with students and fostering a love of learning.
DuPont looks forward to collaborating with staff, students, and families, and partnering with the broader community to maintain the school’s special character while introducing new ideas. She is confident that Iola-Scandinavia Elementary will continue to grow and learn together as the new year unfolds.
Outside of her professional life, DuPont enjoys time with her family, which includes her husband Jim and their three children: Jackson, residing in Madison; Rylee, an elementary education student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; and Kennedy, who will begin her freshman year at UW-Madison this fall. The family’s Labradoodle, Lambeau, completes their household.
DuPont encourages anyone with questions or concerns to reach out and promises to provide answers and resources as needed. “When you see me out and about at school, feel free to stop and say hello. I am looking forward to meeting everyone,” she said.
The school community welcomes Mrs. DuPont and looks forward to a successful year under her leadership.
