The Village of Scandinavia Board met on Jan. 9 at 5 p.m. in the Scandinavia Municipal Center and heard about some necessary bridge repairs and the location of a one-way traffic sign.
Present for the meeting were President David Mork; Trustees Kelton Wilhite, Mike Hayes, Becky Morgan, Patrick Knautz, Treasurer Bob Fredy, Clerk Kati McDermith, and Deputy Clerk Mike Stockwell.
Under Unfinished Business, the Board heard about two persons interested in the sewer operator position, reviewed the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports received which indicated that minor repairs were needed, unanimously approved a motion to amend Ordinance 6-1-12 Public Nuisance: Noisy Animals or Fowl, and instructed the clerk to research bidding requirements so it can get quotes on summer mowing.
Under New Business, President Mork reported the quarterly dam inspection was complete and repairs are needed along the bridge including screws for a bracket and a damaged bridge pedestal. A one-way sign in the alley behind Main Street was discussed due to the location of a generator, cement pad, and fencing. The Board is waiting for proper documentation for sidewalk permits for a couple of businesses. A motion to approve an ordinance regarding the confidentiality of information provided to the assessor was passed with Trustee Morgan abstaining.
