Letter: Music Fest fundraiser for anti-sand mine effort

Music to raise funds for No Iola Sand Mine legal fight

By Greg Ambrosius

Our neighborhood group from the Township of Scandinavia has organized a fund-raiser for our legal fight against the sand mine permit, but it’s also going to be a celebration of our beautiful rural community.

On Sunday, May 5, at the Silver Lake Lanes in Scandinavia, we will be hosting MusicFest. Eight bands are donating their time and talents from 1-6 p.m. for a benefit concert with all proceeds going towards the legal bills our neighbors are incurring in this fight against the sand mine permit.

We will have two stages set up at Silver Lake Lanes and bands will be rotating in throughout the five hours. There is no cover charge to attend, but we will accept donations whether you attend or not. Check out the details of MusicFest and our Donate link for the GoFundMe site here.

Everyone is welcome to attend this celebration of the Township of Scandinavia. If you can help us win this legal fight with a small donation, we’ll preserve the quiet, peaceful life we have in the Township of Scandinavia.
