The Lake Iola Lake District Commissioners are set to meet on Thursday, April 3, at p.m. at the Iola Village Hall to discuss key financial and leadership matters ahead of the district’s annual meeting in June. The board will finalize budget and tax levy recommendations for the 2025-26 fiscal year and consider nominations for an open three-year board position.

During the meeting, commissioners will adopt an agenda for the annual meeting, at which district members will vote on the proposed budget and tax levy. The board will also review financial reports and discuss any other business that may legally come before it.

One of the most significant items on the agenda will be adopting the budget recommendation for the upcoming fiscal year, determining funding for lake maintenance, environmental projects, and community programs. Additionally, the tax levy recommendation for 2025 will be set, ensuring that the district has adequate funding for ongoing and future initiatives.

Another crucial decision will be the nomination process for a three-year board position. The commissioners will discuss potential candidates and determine who will be recommended for election during the June annual meeting.

The meeting will follow standard procedures, beginning with the call to order, approval of the agenda, and reports from the secretary, treasurer, and chairman. Any other relevant business may also be discussed before the meeting adjourns.

Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting, as decisions made will have a lasting impact on the financial and leadership direction of the Lake Iola Lake District.
