Lady T-Birds post wins over W-F and Pittsville

The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Weyauwega-Fremont, 18-1, in a conference game at Weyauwega on Monday, April 14. The game was stopped after four innings due to the 15-run rule after three innings.

The Thunderbirds improved their conference record to 1-1 and overall record to 4-2.

Rayanne Clendenning pitched all four innings to earn the win for the T-Birds. She allowed only three hits, had no walks while striking out six batters. The T-Birds defense committed no errors.

Iola-Scandinavia had 10 hits in the game. Clendenning had two hits and drove in two runs.  Braelyn Jueds, Maddie Karolus, and Maya Munoz each had a double. Karolus and Munoz also drove in a pair of runs.

The junior varsity team also beat Weyauwega-Fremont following the varsity game, 15-0. The junior varsity team has a 3-2 overall record.

The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Pittsville, 14-4, in a non-conference game at Iola on Tuesday, April 15. The Thunderbirds improved their overall record to 5-2.

The T-Birds scored six runs in the first two innings. Pittsville scored three runs in the fourth inning to make the score 6-3. Iola-Scandinavia responded with two runs in the fifth inning and six runs in the sixth inning to stop the game for the final score.

Rayanne Clendenning started and pitched all six innings to earn the win for the Thunderbirds.  She allowed only three hits, had three walks while striking out six batters. The T-Birds defense committed three errors.

Iola-Scandinavia had 13 hits in the game. Braelyn and Brylee Jueds each had three hits and three RBI’s. Brylee Jueds also had a double. Ava Printz, Emma Printz and Katie Rosenthal each drove in two runs.

The varsity team will host Wittenberg-Birnamwood in a conference game on Thursday, April 17, starting at 4:30 p.m.
