Lady T-Birds fall to Trinity High

Iola-Scandinavia high school softball team lost their final game on their spring training trip at the Wide World of Sports complex at Disney World in Florida.

The Thunderbirds finished their trip with a 2-1 record.

The T-Birds lost to Trinity High School from the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, area, 11-3, on Thursday morning, March 23.

Trailing 4-0, Iola-Scandinavia scored two runs in the fourth inning on a single by Jaelyn Sivertson. Trinity went onto score seven runs in the final three innings to put the game away. The T-Birds managed to score their final run in the seventh innining when Clara Koles singled to drive in Sivertson who had previously singled. Brooklyn Berrens had a double.

Pitcher Julia Munoz started the game and took the loss. Munoz pitched five innings, allowing 10 hits, four walks, while striking out one batter. Maddie Much pitched two innings allowing three hits, one walk and had one strikeout. The Thunderbird defense had five errors.
