Judy A. (Loken) Biedermann

December 24, 1946 – May 29, 2024

Judy A. (Loken) Biedermann passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, after a long battle with a progressive neuromuscular disease. Judy was 77 years old and passed away at Green Tree Nursing Home in Clintonville, Wisconsin, where she lived briefly after a decline in her health.

She was born on Dec. 24, 1946, in Clintonville, the daughter of the late Theodore and Leona Loken. She attended Iola High School, class of 1965.

She married her life-long partner Dennis Biedermann on Sept. 16, 1967. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. She worked at Krause Publications as a receptionist until starting a family. In 1969 their daughter Stacey was born. Their family was completed in 1972 when their daughter Stephanie was born.

Judy returned to work as her girls grew. She worked in the kitchen at the Iola-Scandinavia Elementary School, serving children in the lunchroom. She worked there for over 30 years and loved seeing the children every day and being a “lunch lady.”

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She dedicated her life to her family and cherished time with those close to her.

Judy is survived by her loving husband Dennis; her daughters Stacey (Al) Zimmerman and their children Zach (14), Brooke (11), Bryan (11), and Stephanie Jatnieks; brother Kenneth Loken; and sister Mae Lou Loken. She is further survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother Gene Loken, sister Joyce (Norman) Hitzke, and son-in-law Tom Jatnieks.

The Funeral Service for Judy will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. A visitation will be held before the service at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery.

In place of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Hitterdahl Lutheran Church of Iola in memory of Judy.
