John W. Adams

John W. Adams, age 76, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Aug. 9, 2025.

He was born and raised in Iola, Wisconsin, the son of the late Melvin and Altheda (Gunderson) Adams. He married Betty Young on Dec.19, 1970.

John spent the majority of his career as a baker including Adams Bakery in downtown Iola. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Brian; grandchildren, Gabriel, Emma (Thomas) and Molly; twin great-grandchildren arriving shortly; siblings, Linda (Dave), Rick (Michelle), Ann and Cheri (Bill); brothers- and sisters-in-law, Audrey (Dave), Mary (Johnny), Fred (Karen), Carol (Greg), Joe (Trish) and Debbie (Chris); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents; Betty’s parents, Joseph and Marie Young; and a brother-in-law, Mike.

John’s life will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 18, at the Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton. Family and friends are invited to gather from 1 p.m. until the service at 3 p.m. For online condolences, please visit www.valleyfh.com.
