Co-founder of Hatch Lake Association

John “Jack” Kreuser

1933 – Oct. 13, 2023

John “Jack” Kreuser, 90, of Colgate, Wisconsin, was born to eternal life on Oct. 13, 2023, at his home surrounded by family members. He was the youngest of eight children born to John B. Kreuser and Rose (Hansen) Kreuser. He was born in Meno. Falls. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Neu) Kreuser who preceded him. They had been married for 64 years.
Bowling was a big part of Jack’s life. His early jobs in life included polishing bowling balls, cleaning the alleys, and later setting the pins while being paid 10 cents per game. He bowled a 300-game already at the age of 17. He was a member of the Milwaukee Bowling Association for 6 decades. He was the State of Wisconsin doubles Bowling champion in both 1951 and 1971, City of Milwaukee Champ in 1992, and the Wisconsin Senior Champ in 1993.

Jack was the owner of Jack Kreuser Carpentry Contracting. He was also the former VP of Neu’s Building Center from 1995-2000. Later he became a land developer and developed two subdivisions in the Village of Richfield. He was a former Richfield Lion’s Club member. He was also involved with civic affairs for the Town of Richfield. He was their Building Inspector and Zoning Administrator for 25 years. He was also a member of their Planning Commission. He co-founded the Hatch Lake Association in Iola, Wisconsin, back in 1986.

Jack was actively involved in his church – St. Columba, later becoming part of St. Gabriel Parish. He was an usher, Building Committee member, active on the Building and Grounds committee, and assisted with groundskeeping. Our parents played a major role in the development and formation of the new Parish of St. Gabriel. Because of our parent’s generosity an orphanage in Kenya, Africa now has a chapel. Our parents always had an older person under their wing whom they looked after (Vic, Joe, Jack, Sieg). In the end, it was their turn to have someone watch over them.

Jack leaves behind a rich legacy of descendants. He was the father of nine children: Donald (Mary), the late James (Jo Beth Kreuser-Hercules), Robert, Kenneth (Amy), Kathleen, Janean Richardson, Thomas, Richard, and Judith. He was the grandfather of 15: Andrew, Kyle, Eric, Kelly, Tracy, Neal, Cassandra, Rachel, William, Grace, Kevin, Allan, Jamie, Jodi, and Sean. Proud great-grandfather of 20: Tyson, Maren, Gannon, Calla, Annika, Emersen, Easton, Nolan, Evan, Anya, Kaleb, Verdana, Gabriel, Evan, Jacob, Noelle, Cora, Hazel, Brayden and Beckett.

Brother of the late: Emma (Mark) Nettesheim, Elisabeth (George) Schuster, Harold (infant), Leo (Marge), Harriet (Nicholas) Burczyk, Coreen (George) Czarnecki, and Mona (Willie) Geiger.

He is survived by many relatives and friends.
