Janet L. Lehrer

Janet L. Lehrer, age 79, of Iola, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was born on February 7, 1942, in to Clintonville, Wisconsin, Lee and Lavina (Daniels) Shingler.
Janet was in the Sisters of Franciscan Convent in Manitowoc for 15 years. She later married Lee Lehrer on Nov. 16, 1974.
She worked as nurse at Appleton Medical Center-ICU, Dr, Gmeiners Orthopedic office, where she was his special Medical Assistant and at Glatfelter Paper Company in Neenah.
She was an avid Sports fan, Green Bay Packer fan, doll collector and also played in a religious band called HIS (Harmony In Spirit).
Janet and Lee moved to the Iola area in 2006. She was a First Responder, served on the boards of the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, current member of the Waupaca County Board of Supervisors, president of the Waupaca County Crime Stoppers. She was also a member of the Iola Sons of Norway.
She is survived by her husband Lee; siblings Ken (Robyn) Shingler, Karen, (Richard) Ziegert, Lois Scott, James “Charlie” (Darlene) Shingler, Mark (Judy) Shingler, along with nieces and nephews; brothers- and sisters-in-law Daniel Lehrer. George (Barbara) Lehrer, John Lehrer, Ruth Sawall. Marion Schmitz, Mark (Jackie) Lehrer. She was preceded in death by her parent; brothers-in-law Ken Scott, Wayne Schmitz; and sister-in-law Marilyn Lehrer.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 182590 County Road C, Galloway, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial of cremains will take place in the parish cemetery.
