Iola will come alive with music as Eddie Danger launches “Music at The Mill” Series on June 7

The tranquil Village of Iola, Wisconsin, will transform into a musical haven on the evening of June 7 as Eddie Danger, an acclaimed cosmic folk artist and the visionary owner of the historic Iola Mills, takes the stage for a soulful and high-energy performance. From 6 to 8 p.m., the event will ignite the start of the “Music at The Mill” series — a summer-long celebration of original music, community, and heritage.

Guests will gather on the scenic grounds of the 100-plus-year-old Iola Mills, where music will pulse through the walls that once powered local industry. This hydro-powered marvel has evolved into a cultural cornerstone, and with Danger’s guidance, it will soon become an amazing live music venue in Central Wisconsin.

Sharing the stage with Danger will be “Kodachrome Kids,” the folk/rock/pop duo with a growing following for their harmonically rich, story-driven sound. Their appearance will set the tone for what will be a summer of authentic performances, aimed at both honoring Iola’s storied past and embracing the creative energy of today’s independent music scene.

“This is our third season owning the mill,” Danger explained. “We wanted to team up with WMV to offer more original music in the area. As a musician myself, I like to provide an atmosphere that the performer can really appreciate and let them know they are appreciated. These old walls resonate and tell a story.”

The June 7 kickoff will not only highlight the venue’s unique ambiance but also underscore its mission — to nurture artists and build a musical community. Attendees can expect more than great music. With food and refreshments available from the on-site café and the calming flow of the Little Wolf River and Lake Iola nearby, the evening will offer a full sensory experience.

As a free event open to everyone, “Music at The Mill” invites residents and travelers alike to soak in Wisconsin’s natural beauty, support local musicians with tips, and become part of a movement that’s revitalizing the region’s arts scene.

The series will continue throughout the summer with performances on July 5 and Aug. 23, featuring new artists to be announced. Each night promises to be a blend of talent, history, and heartfelt performance, all nestled within one of Wisconsin’s most charming rural settings.
