The Iola Village Board, comprising local elected officials, will convene on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Iola Village Hall at 180 S. Main St., to deliberate on a resolution authorizing the Lake District to apply for a harvester grant, address a parcel request at 144 Depot Street, approve an operator’s permit for Ronald R. Krause, and greenlight hiring for the Police Department.
The meeting will commence with a call to order, followed by an open meeting statement reminding attendees that proceedings comply with Wisconsin Statutes for public notice. Participants will then recite the Pledge of Allegiance, observe a moment of silence, and conduct a roll call to confirm attendance.
A public presentation segment will allow residents up to two minutes each to address the board on relevant matters.
Under new business, the board will first consider a resolution permitting the Lake District to submit an application for a harvester grant.
Next, officials will address a request concerning Parcel 26 35 71313 at 144 Depot Street, reviewing details pertinent to the property’s status or proposed use. The agenda will proceed to the approval of an operator’s permit for Ronald R. Krause.
Hiring approval for the Police Department will follow, focusing on personnel needs to maintain law enforcement capacity.
Committee reports will then outline ongoing village activities. The Planning & Zoning Committee will seek a new member to fill a vacancy. The CDA, Personnel, Library, Protection of Persons and Property, Public Works, Ordinance, and Parks and Gardens committees will present updates, including January 2026 circulation and programming statistics from the Library Committee and a protection services report from the Police Committee.
The Parks and Garden Committee will note its next meeting on Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m., held jointly with the Revitalization Committee.
The Finance Committee will review bills and present the January 2026 financial report. Updates will also cover the Iola-Scandinavia Chamber of Commerce and future Board of Trustees meetings scheduled for Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m. in the Clerk’s Office and March 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room.
The session will conclude with a review of board correspondence.
