
The Village of Iola Board will hold its annual re-organizational meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at 5:15 p.m. in the Community Room at Iola Village Hall, 180 South Main Street.
President Schustek will administer the Oath of Office to the three reelected trustees: David Harper, Pamela Parks, and Mike Richberg.
Following the swearing-in, the board will make a series of appointments that will shape village leadership and operations for the coming year.
The board will first select a President Pro Tem. It will then appoint members to eight standing committees: Finance, Ordinance, Personnel, Parks, Police, Public Works, Revitalization, Intergovernmental, and Historical Preservation.
Additional appointments slated for the meeting include the village’s law firm to serve as corporate and general prosecutorial counsel, the bank that will act as depository for all village funds, and the newspaper designated as the official publication for public notices. The board will also name individuals or representatives to several key positions and boards, including emergency government director, Board of Review, Planning Commission for zoning and variance matters, building inspector, weed commissioner, chicken inspector, zoning administrator, and representatives to the NWCJMC, Lake District, Fire & Ambulance Board, Iola Regional Recycling Center, Community Development Authority, WCEDC, Iola-Scandinavia Chamber of Commerce, and Iola Village Library Board
