Iola-Scandinavia T-Bird Spotlight: Heather Hoyord

Heather Hoyord is married to her husband Charlie. They have three children: Quinn 21, Dayne 19, and Marin 16. Their pets are Lena the naughty bulldog and Cujo the kitty. Heather has three sisters who all work in education.

Heather graduated from Iola-Scandinavia High School. She earned a B.A. from UW-Eau Claire.

She chose to work in a school because “I enjoy the students and want to assist them if I can.”

She has studied abroad in Winchester, England. She’s visited Prague, Czech Republic, to watch her son play hockey and chaperoned the Spanish trips to Guatemala and Belize.

“I love to watch my children play sports! I love traveling, hot tubs, dogs and campfires with good friends and family.”

Her other jobs have been homemaker, wife and mom.

Her goal is to make people smile.

She lists her greatest accomplishments as “Quinnie, Dayner, and Mare-Bear.”

Something you may not know about Heather is that she met the Queen of England while studying abroad. She also believes Walt Disney World is magical.

On weekends, she likes to spend time with family and friends and knock off projects!

Her favorite sports teams are I-S Thunderbirds and Odessa Jackalopes Hockey.

She enjoys ’70s and ’80s music. Her favorite book is Angela’s Ashes and her favorite movie is Forrest Gump.
