Today the T-Bird Spotlight is on Travis Bassett.
Travis is married to his wife, Caitlin. They have two amazing daughters. They also have a dog, two cats, and, depending on the time of year, a few pigs, turkeys, and a couple hundred chickens.
Travis graduated from Amherst High School. He earned degrees from Viterbo University – a BS in Middle and Secondary Education, and UW-Oshkosh – MS in Educational Leadership and Policy. He also earned from UW-Madison, a Certificate in Online Teaching.
Travis chose to work in a school because “Social Studies is awesome and kids are awesome! Helping young people develop the skills necessary to be a productive, informed citizen is one of the greatest jobs in the world!”
He has traveled to many countries in Europe. He’s been to Peru, and all over the United States, mostly east of the Mississippi.
His hobbies include anything that has to do with apples. He enjoys reading, listening to, and making music, growing and raising food, and building things.
On weekends, he likes to play with his children.
Thank you Travis, for all that you do!
