RETIREMENT: Mary Schwartz has retired from the Iola Car Show staff. “It’s impossible to put into a few years what an incredible person she is, and how strong her impact has been on so many. Dedication and work ethic like hers can’t be replaced,” the show’s Facebook post stated. She started at the car show in 1983. Best wishes for your retirement!

BASKETBALL TALENT: According to an article in Yardbarker, Iola-Scandinavia basketball forward Alex Robbins has gotten the eye of various college recruiters. “Robbins impressed this past season and made quite the impression upon collegiate coaches during his first year of high school play,” the article noted. FOOTBALL TALENT: UW-Madison football staff have booked Iola-Scandinavia’s Jenson Rice visit for their game on Sept. 7 as a prospect. “The athlete solidified himself as a standout on the football field the past season, playing both defensive back and quarterback,” the Wisconsin Sports Heroics article indicated. Kevin Petersen for “ … not disclosing who is correctly paying for his flyers State Statue 11.1303.
