  • The Scandinavia Vikings shut out Plover 8-0 to advance to the Badger Amateur Baseball Association Round 3 of 4 playoff championship, which will be hosted by Scandinavia this Sunday, Aug. 28, at 1:30 p.m.
  • Avigail Mata is the new police officer in the Iola Police Department. Mata spent up to grade 8 in Iola and ski jumped and cross country skied. Mata received her Criminal Justice degree from Mid-State Technical College. Holly Neumann penned a nice article about her in this week’s Waupaca County Post.
  • The first official Meet and Greet for Iola and Scandinavia area organizations, hosted by the Iola Village Library, was a success. The library appreciates everyone who came out to learn more about events and organizations that are looking for members. Five winners of Chamber Bucks are Tom C., Kim H., Sheila L., Laurie B., and Leona E. Congratulations!
