UPDATE AUG. 8: The Iola Lions Stuff the Bus event and Brat Fry will be held tomorrow rain or shine. Anyone wishing to avoid tomorrow’s forecasted rain can bring donations to the store today. A Lion will be at the store parking lot today from 11-2.

The annual Stuff the Bus event is on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Iola Sentry Foods. It is an Iola Lions project. As its name would imply, the goal of Stuff the Bus is to “stuff” the bus with school supplies.

“Together, we can make a real impact in supporting education by providing our children with much-needed school supplies to be successful heading back to school this fall. Please help the Lions send our kids back to school with the tools they need to succeed by donating new school supplies,” said Lion Mark Forseth.

Cash donations are also welcome. Early school supply donations can be dropped off at the grocery store. School supplies are available for purchase at the store.

In conjunction with Stuff the Bus, the Lions will be holding a brat fry at Sentry to raise money for school supplies. The Brat Fry will be held the same day from 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
