Members of the Iola Lions Club worked on a covered bridge structure on Iola’s River Walk off North Main Street by Depot Street Station. The structure, made possible through a $10,000 anonymous donation in December 2023, is part of the beautification project by the Village of Iola Community Development Authority.

The covered bridge was in the original plan for the trail 15 years ago.

Charlie Wasrud has donated most of the lumber and its planing.
