Iola Historical Society to meet Jan. 20

The Iola Historical Society (IHS) will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Jan. 30, in the Machine Shed, 222 Depot Street, Iola.

The board meeting will commence at 5:30 p.m.

The membership meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Business will consist of a walk through oof planning for 2023 activities.

At 7 p.m. Barb Kobs will present “Reflections of My Experiences While Living and Teaching in Australia.”

There will be a special recognition of Tom Fucik’s 14 years of stewardship as society treasurer.

Annual Awards

IHS awards were presented at the Dec. 5, 2022, Potluck Dinner.

Charles W. Thompson received a special Handyman’s Award, Donna Hooker and Ron Netzler were recipients of the Docent of the Year award.
