In a meeting held on Monday, Jan. 29, at the Machine Shed at 222 Depot Street in Iola, the Iola Historical Society will outline its ambitious plans for the year.
The society has its board meeting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. One of the key highlights of the meeting will be the initiation of the preliminary walkthrough for planning the activities slated for 2024. The society’s leadership will discuss upcoming events and initiatives, setting the stage for an eventful year ahead.
A childhood spent in Iola
The 7 p.m. program segment of the meeting features Jerry Finch, who will share his nostalgic recollections of a childhood spent in Iola, a journey through his memories, reminiscing about friends and the village’s past.
The society encourages citizens not to miss the opportunity to enjoy the upcoming 62nd Winter Carnival scheduled to take place from February 2-4. This event promises to be a delightful experience for the community.
