The Iola Historical Society is gearing up for an eventful meeting on Monday, March 25, focusing on community engagement and historical preservation.
The gathering will commence at 5:30 p.m. with a board meeting followed by a membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. The venue is set at the Machine Shed located at 222 Depot Street in Iola.
On the agenda for the business segment of the meeting are several crucial topics. First and foremost, the society will discuss plans for a Memorial Day Tribute to Veterans, aiming to honor those who served the nation. Additionally, deliberations will center around setting prices for the upcoming Pork Roast, a beloved community tradition. The Iola Rummage Sale Participation in June will also be addressed, emphasizing the disposal of unwanted items to benefit the community.
Furthermore, the society will mull over participation in Tastes ‘n’ Tunes, an anticipated music event in July. This discussion aims to enhance community involvement and cultural appreciation.
