The Iola Historical Society is set to launch its 2026 activities with a comprehensive meeting and program scheduled for Monday, January 26, at the Machine Shed, located at 222 Depot Street in Iola. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a Board Meeting, followed by a Membership Meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Society members and interested community members are invited to attend and participate in early planning for the year’s events and projects. Among the highlights under discussion will be the annual Memorial Day Salute to Veterans Pork Roast, slated for Monday, May 26, and the ever-popular Strawberry Fest & Collectibles Fair, which returns on Sunday, June 28.

Following the business portion of the evening, the program will shift focus to local history. At 7 p.m., Greg Loescher will lead attendees in a review of Iola’s historical marker program and offer insights.
