The Iola Historical Society recently held its annual Christmas party at the Millstone in Iola, bringing together members and supporters to reflect on the year’s achievements and set sights on plans for the new year.
Society President Cliff Mishler led the evening by reviewing recent events and accomplishments, then officially closing out the year’s business with the presentation of annual awards. These honors recognized the dedication, creativity, and service of several outstanding individuals.

The first two awards, Volunteer of the Year and Docents of the Year, are familiar traditions within the Society. This year, two special recognitions — the Creativity Award and Quartermaster Award — highlighted exceptional contributions that went above and beyond.
