The Iola Citywide Rummage Sale is happening this year, scheduled for May 14-17 (Thursday through Sunday). The map will include Iola, Scandinavia, and the surrounding area. This year, printed maps will be available at various locations in the community and on the website (www.iolarummagesale.com) beginning May 10.

Visit www.iolarummagesale.com to list your sale. There is a form to fill out with your sale information, and you can pay the $10 listing fee online. You can also pay in cash by dropping off at JP Media LLC at the corner of Highway 161 and Aanstad Road in Iola (N7528 Aanstad Road).

This is the 30th year of the Iola Citywide Rummage Sale. It started originally with the Iola Lioness group back in 1996. Once the Iola Lioness group dissolved, local groups have picked it up to keep it going. This year, an individual volunteered to run it, and they are excited to keep it alive for the community.

This year’s printed and online maps will include the sale’s address and location, the days and times of each sale, and descriptions of what is available at each location.

“We know there are people who have their sale the same weekend as the citywide, but don’t sign up to be on the map, so they can save the money. We ask that if you are having a sale this same weekend, please sign up to be on the map, as we’d like to be able to continue this for years to come. The money is used for advertising the sale, having banners made, posters, flyers, and printing the maps,” Diana Jones, event coordinator, noted.
