The Iola Historical Society Board met on Monday, June 29. Cliff, Lee, Tom, Charlie T., Bonny and Sharon were present.
Clean up day is July 1, starting at 9 am.
Tractor Club will get the flatbed rail car from Scandinavia Historical Society. Charlie Thompson is in charge of the move.
Discussion of the player piano and what to do with the old one seeing we got a fully operational one from the Mortenson family with many rolls of music.
Our Historical Society bought 1/3 of the staging unit for programs, Car Show owns 1/3, and Our Savior’s Church owns 1/3. Cost share of the risers for each is $688.
Our Historical Society will open to the public on July 11 from 12-3 p.m. Sharon and Cliff will open.
Membership meeting
Cliff opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Nine people were present.
Tom F. gave a financial report. Sue Halverson motioned to accept, Donna Hooker second. It was approved.
Speeder money will be used for the expenses required for display of the flatbed rail car that the Tractor Club will deliver to IHS. Charlie T. is in charge of the move.
IHS campus openings
July 19 – will be opened by Sarah Abramson.
July 25 – Charlie Nordness will open.
Lee presented to board members in attendance copies of a form that has been developed for use in acceptance of gifts and loans of archival items.
