Ida F. Olson, age 96, of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021.

She was born on May 21, 1924, in Iola to the late Charles and Clara (Wendt) Hoppe. She married Marlyn Olson in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2000.

Ida loved crocheting baby outfits, sweaters and blankets and donated to them to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola which they sent on to World Relief. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and sharing her goodies with her friends. She also worked at the Crystal Cafe as a cook and enjoyed her animals while living on the on the farm in the Town of Scandinavia.

Ida is survived by: her son Gary (Patti) Olson and Gary’s children Wendy Olson, Heather Riehl, Nikki Dunham, Benjamin Olson and Lindsay Mack; George’s (special friend Susan Wirth) children: Heather Dain, Shala Calderon and Shari Doe; and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Fred (Dora) Hoppe, a sister Trudy Sloan; along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marlyn E. Olson; son George Olson; sisters Margaret, Virginia, Eleanor, and infant sister Bertha; and brothers Charles, Arthur, and infant brother  Walter; and brother in law Richard “Dicky” Olson.

A memorial service for Ida will be held at a later time. Burial will take place in the Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Iola. Online condolences can be given at www.voiefuneralhome.com.
