BY TOM ANDERSON, Head Coach

Rayanne Clendenning

With the snow still on the Thunderbird softball field, Iola-Scandinavia had to travel south to Westfield to open their 2025 softball season. The T-Birds beat Westfield 14-4 in a non-conference opener for both teams.

Starting junior pitcher Rayanne Clendenning went the distance to earn the win. Clendenning allowed six hits and three walks while striking out eight batters.

Offensively, juniors Brooklyn Berrens and Ava Printz each had four hits and each drove in three runs. Berrens had a solo inside the park homerun in the sixth inning.  Rayanne Clendenning and senior Libby Maus each had three hits. Printz and Clendenning each had a double. Clendenning also drove in three runs.
