AMHERST – The Iola-Scandinavia Varsity Softball Team continues to roll by beating Amherst, 6-0, in the CWC-East game on Thursday, April 11. The Thunderbirds are 3-0 in conference and 3-1 overall.

Iola-Scandinavia outhit Amherst 7-4. Brooklyn Berrens and Ava Printz each had two hits. Senior Myah Heschke hit a two-run homerun over the left-centerfield fence in the fifth inning.

Senior pitcher Julia Munoz went the distance to earn the shutout win. Munoz allowed four hits, and two walks while striking out 10 batters. The T-Bird defense had no errors in the game.

The junior varsity team also beat Amherst, 7-4, on Thursday, April 11.

The varsity team will host St. Mary Catholic on Saturday, April 13, in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 10:00 a.m.
