Here’s a little bit about Mrs. Bestul:

I have been a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher in the Iola-Scandinavia School District for the past 20 years. I received my degree from UW-Stevens Point in December 1999. I furthered my education receiving my Master of Arts degree from St. Mary’s of Minnesota.

I am originally from Arpin, Wisconsin, a small town like Scandinavia about 25 minutes west of Stevens Point. I graduated high school from Auburndale High School.

I am married to Dale (15 years) with one daughter, Sydney (9), who is in the 4th grade at IS Elementary School. We have two pets. A 3-year-old Golden Doodle Sam and Minnie our cat.

My hobbies include scrapbooking, gardening, traveling, spending time with family and DIY crafting.

As a family we enjoy many activities. We are avid Badger, Packer, Brewer, and Bucks fans. Our favorite team is the T-Birds! We are Disney fanatics. We visit at least once a year and can’t wait to go back as soon as we get home. This summer we will be taking our second Disney cruise.

My favorite thing about teaching at Iola-Scandinavia is the students. We have great kids who make me learn and laugh every day. I love the connections that I have made with students by coaching and advising activities outside of the classroom.
