At its upcoming meeting on Monday, Sept. 9, the Iola-Scandinavia School District Board of Education will review high school entrance bids and consider several personnel actions, including a resignation and new hires.
The meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Elementary School, Room #6, will cover a range of business, including updates on ongoing referendums and committee reports.
Following the call to order and approval of the agenda, members of the public will have the opportunity to provide input after registering before the meeting. The board will then approve the consent agenda, which includes fundraising requests from various school groups, and gifts and donations.
Key items on the agenda include presentations on bids for both high school entrance renovations and elementary school window and door replacements. The board will also hear reports from administrators, student representatives, and various committees, such as updates on the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) regional meeting and recent discussions at CESA 5.
Personnel changes are expected to be a major focus. The board will address the resignation of the high school track coach and consider the hiring of several positions, including a middle school/high school food service worker, a high school girls junior varsity basketball coach, and special education staff. Committee reports from building and grounds, personnel, finance, and curriculum are also anticipated.
The board will conclude with new business and a discussion of future agenda items, including upcoming meetings on Oct. 7 and Oct. 14. The public is encouraged to participate during designated times, but the meeting will primarily focus on district business.
