Join fellow residents for the Melby Memorial Book Sale at the Scandinavia Public Library on Friday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This special event will also continue on Saturday, November 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sale features the remarkable personal collection of Mary Lou Melby, a devoted supporter and life-long reader, as well as a selection of used library books.
Mary Lou was a cherished member of the library community, known for her jovial humor, curiosity, and positive outlook. She spent countless hours exploring the library’s collections and brightening the days of our staff. After her passing in June 2025, Mary Lou’s family generously donated her personal library of over 3,300 books to support the Scandinavia Public Library.
At the sale, you’ll find an incredible variety of materials to browse, including fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks, DVDs, standard and large print editions, and selections for children, teens, and adults. There are no set prices — simply donate in support of the library and take home your favorite finds!
