In the upcoming Iola Historical Society (IHS) meeting, members will gather to wrap up the year’s business and set the stage for 2025. The meeting, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28, will occur at the Machine Shed, located at 222 Depot Street in Iola, Wisconsin.

The evening will begin with a board meeting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. As the last business meeting of the year, attendees will recap recent accomplishments and look ahead to future projects. Key agenda items will include the election of board members and officers to serve in 2025, as well as the discussion and approval of the operating budget for the coming year.

The highlight of the evening will be a special program starting at 7 p.m., focusing on “The Little Falls Community and the Radies Corporation.” This presentation will delve into the rich history of the area, covering topics such as exotic animals, Badger Amateur Baseball Association baseball, logging, and other local points of interest.

Looking ahead, the IHS will host its annual potluck banquet and program on Monday, Dec. 16, at the Café at Iola Mills. The first meeting of 2025 is already set for Monday, Jan. 27, when the newly elected board and officers will begin their terms.

This October meeting marks a crucial juncture for the Iola Historical Society as they prepare to transition leadership and set financial plans for the upcoming year. Community members interested in local history are encouraged to attend and participate in shaping the society’s future direction.
