Project description:
- Remove and replace the top 1.75-inches of pavement
- In the parking lanes in Scandinavia the top 3.5-inches of pavement will be removed and replaced
- Centerline rumble strips will be added (approximately Lake Breeze Lane to County B)
- Curb ramps in Scandinavia and Iola that do not meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility criteria will be replaced
- Guardrail in Scandinavia will be replaced
- Pavement markings will be replaced
Overall Traffic Impacts:
- Motorists can expect to encounter shoulder closures and single lane closures with moving or flagging operations.
- Lane widths will be narrowed; uneven lanes and driving on milled surfaces can be expected.
- Access will be maintained to business and residential driveways; however, driveways will be temporarily closed for short periods while construction operations are in the immediate vicinity of the driveways.
- Pedestrians can expect sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramp closures; temporary pedestrian accommodations will be provided.
- Construction will be scheduled to avoid work during the Iola Car Show and the Scandinavia Corn Roast.
