
The Harrison Town Board met Sept. 8 at Northland Church, where officials reviewed financial reports, approved catering plans for an upcoming Wisconsin Towns Association meeting, and scheduled next month’s budget session.
Chairman Dean Lashua called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., with board members Mike Schultz, John Phillips, Megan Guzman, Carrie Powell, Dave Loken, and Rose Trost in attendance.
The treasurer’s report showed a beginning balance of $138,252.85 on Aug. 1. Deposits for the month totaled $31,273.65, while expenses reached $101,479.61, leaving a checking account balance of $68,043.90 as of Aug. 31. The town’s Money Market account ended the month at $122,551.56 after earning $14.60 in interest.
In new business, board member Dave Loken presented information on the town’s Rural Mutual Insurance policy before departing the meeting. Members also discussed plans for Harrison to host the upcoming Wisconsin Towns Association meeting at the Waupaca Highway Department Building on County Road A. A motion by Mike Schultz, seconded by John Phillips, to hire Schueler’s to cater the event was approved.
The board also scheduled its annual budget meeting for Oct. 13, immediately following the regular monthly session. Calls and concerns from residents received during the past month were reviewed as well.
